Groundbreaking Being Held for the Clubhouse at Dykeman Park Golf Course
October 2, 2024 at 3:39 p.m.
The Logansport Parks & Recreation Department and Foundation is very pleased to announce that a groundbreaking ceremony for the Dykeman Clubhouse will be held on Monday, October 7th at 10 a.m. It will take place at the top of the driving range at the course. This event is being held to celebrate the community of people coming together to create a new vision for Dykeman Park Municipal Golf Course. The public is invited.
The goal is to build the Dykeman Clubhouse for no more than $3 million, AND to build it by the Spring of 2026 for the 100th anniversary of the Dykeman Park Municipal Golf Course. In addition to the new clubhouse, the Cass County Council has agreed to pay for new cart paths and the Logansport Redevelopment Commission is purchasing additional land for a full-service driving range at the course. All of these elements are an important step in creating a new vision for Dykeman Park Municipal Golf Course.
Contractors for the Clubhouse Project are led by John Smith, President of Shepler Construction. He has assembled a team of local contractors to work on this project, including Steinberger Construction, The Dilling Group and Deichman Excavating. KJG Architects of West Lafayette are providing the design and construction documents. Financing will be provided by Security Federal Savings Bank.
The Logansport Parks & Recreation Foundation recruited Brad Rozzi to lead a committee of citizens to publicly & privately raise the necessary funds to build this new structure as well as additional improvements at Dykeman Park Golf Course. Members of the Dykeman Clubhouse Fundraising Committee include Michael Bowditch, Tammy Helvie, Brannon Meagher, Chad Higgins, Chuck LaDow, Kyle Smith, Golf Course Manager & Pro, Dean Vietti, and Parks Administrator, Janet Fawley.
