The Logansport Parks & Recreation Department has announced their activity plans for the July 4th weekend:

1st: The first-ever Freedom Bike Ride will be held at Huston Park from 8 a.m. – 11 a.m.  This event will give families & individuals a chance to ride their bicycles as they tour the parks of Logansport via Huston Park, River Bluff Trail, Eel River Run, and High Street.  Not only will families be together for this bike-ride, but we are also giving them the chance to win a prize for being the most patriotic costumed group, and the best decorated bicycle!  More information will be available at

2nd : The Muehlhausen Aquatic Center will be open to the community from Noon-6 p.m.

3rd:  The regular July 4th festivities at Riverside Park will NOT be held due to COVID-19 and social distancing requirements.

Finally, the Logansport Parks Board felt strongly that after the isolation requirements stemming from COVID-19, the community needed a positive & familiar event to still take place. Therefore, the annual fireworks show will take place at 10 p.m. in Logansport. In keeping with social distancing requirements, we are encouraging families to find their favorite open space in Logansport to view this year’s fireworks.  The Parks Department has purchased larger shells that launch higher, and are easier to view throughout the city. This will enable our citizens to view the fireworks safely from their own home or neighborhood. At 10 p.m. the fireworks may be seen over the Eel River.
