  • Logansport Parks Encourage Completion of 
Mailed Survey Responses

    The Logansport Parks & Recreation Department has announced that surveys about the Logansport Parks are being mailed randomly to homes throughout the City of Logansport.  The Parks Department asks that if you receive a survey, please take the time to either complete and return it in an enclosed postage paid, return envelope, OR responses may be completed using an online survey. Those that speak only Spanish, Haitian, or Burmese may respond by calling the number enclosed in the survey to speak with someone that can complete it for them. 


  • Parks Department is Recruiting Lifeguards
    The Logansport Parks & Recreation Department has announced a new program for recruiting lifeguards to work at the Muehlhausen Aquatic Center: those interested may receive a reimbursement to pay for Lifeguard Certification(or Recertification) Training.

  • Sledding at Spencer Park

    The Logansport Parks & Recreation Department has announced that as snow becomes part of the winter activities, sledding will be in full swing at Spencer Park.  Sledding is one of the best activities in town when the heavy snows come and school’s out!  Sliding down the hill in the snow is a lot of fun for all ages.


  • Safety Information For Outdoor Winter Activities

    When the weather is extremely cold, and especially if there are high winds, try to stay indoors. Make any trips outside as brief as possible, and remember these tips to protect your health and safety:


  • Spencer Park Now open to Vehicle Traffic
    The Logansport Parks & Recreation Department has announced that Spencer Park will open to vehicle traffic following the dismantling of Christmas in the Park. As always, Spencer Park is open to the public from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Questions may be directed to the Parks Office at 753-6969 or e-mail at parksinfo@cityoflogansport.org.

  • The Logansport Parks and Recreation Board will meet regularly on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers in the City Building at 601 E. Broadway in Logansport.

  • Reminder: Park Restrooms, Drinking Fountains, 
and Court Lights to Close  October 31st
    The Logansport Parks & Recreation Department would like to remind the public that as cold weather approaches, it will be necessary to shut down restrooms and drinking fountains in the city parks.  ALL drinking fountains and restrooms with a lower priority have already been closed. On October 31st, Riverside, Spencer, and Huston Parks restrooms will be closed for the season. 

  • Renovation of Fairview Park Playground 
& Shelter Beginning August 1st

    The Logansport Parks & Recreation Department has announced that the Fairview Park Playground and the adjacent shelter will be renovated beginning August 1st. At that time, the current facilities will be demolished and no longer available. Tentatively, the new playground will be built in September, and the new shelter will be built in October with a completion date at the end of October.


  • Ribbon Cutting for Basketball, Pickleball & Fitness Courts at Riverside Park
    The Logansport Parks & Recreation Department and the primary sponsor,  Logansport Memorial Hospital and the Logansport Memorial Hospital Foundation, will be holding a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new National Fitness Campaign’s (NFC) Fitness Court.  It will take place on Thursday, June 23rd at 11 a.m. at Riverside Park.   

  • Follow the steps to learn how to sign up and pay by credit/debit card for department activities and reserve community facilities online.

  • Parks Launch New Interactive Software on May 18th

    The Logansport Parks & Recreation Department has entered into an agreement with CivicRec Recreation Management Solutions to provide the community easier registration for park activities and facility rental reservations. Work has been completed for a May 18 launch from the logansportparks.com website. Park Users are encouraged to set-up their own account and start exploring the program!


  • The Parks Department is offering free downloads of Binky & Bell dog coloring pages to the public. Just download and print your favorite picture, bring it to the Parks Department and you will receive a free surprise for participating! (Limit one surprise per person. While daily supplies last) Aren't able to print at home? No problem! We have blank pages that you can pick-up and take with you to color at home!

    The Parks Department is located at 1701 Dividend Drive, Logansport, IN., right across the street from Huston Park. There is a box located just inside the doors where you can place your finished picture and take your free surprise. We will periodically post completed coloring pages to our facebook page, so check for yours :-)

  • Logansport Parks Recommends Responsible Behavior in Parks

    During the Corona Virus COVID-19 pandemic, the Logansport Parks & Recreation Department has made recommendations for responsible behavior that benefits all when using the trails and green spaces in the parks:


  • Recommendations for trail users on observing social distancing minimums
    There are a number of specific recommendations for advising the public to keep safe social distancing when in parks or on trails

  • DIY- Park Style! Ideas for app downloads!

    Do It Yourself – Park Style? What do we mean by that?  We want to encourage you to make your own programs and activities in our parks!  DIY articles will give you some resources to do some exploring and create great family memories on your own!  This month’s newsletter will give you some apps for your cell phone that will help you out!
