Sledding and tubing at Spencer Park and Dykeman Park is one of the best activities in town when the heavy snows come and school’s out!  Sliding down the hill in the snow is a lot of fun for all ages. We want you to have fun, but please keep you and your family safe when participating in this wonderful winter tradition!  The following rules for sledding and tubing are meant to keep everyone safe:


  1. It is recommended that all persons occupied in downhill winter recreational activities (sledding, snowboarding, tubing) wear personal safety equipment consisting of protective helmets. Failure to wear protective equipment exposes users to risk of bone fracture, concussion and other serious or fatal injury upon falling or collision with other users.
  2. Children, 10 years of age and under, must be accompanied by an adult.
  3. Proceed downhill when clear of other persons.
  4. Spectators must stay clear of specified hills.
  5. No other items such as benches, tables, wood materials or other objects used as ramps or jumps are allowed on recreational sledding hills.
  6. Equipment use is restricted to its intended purpose, i.e., downhill winter recreational activities.
  7. The following items are prohibited from downhill sledding surfaces
    1. glass containers,
    2. food, gum or beverages
    3. Pets
    4. Alcohol, tobacco, drugs and weapons.
  8. Failure to follow rules, or engaging in horseplay, violence or profanity will result in expulsion from the park.
  9. Hours: 8 am to 10 pm.
  10. The Logansport Parks & Recreation Department has the right to close the downhill winter recreation locations to the public at any time without notice.
  11. Please report maintenance concerns to the Logansport Parks Department at
    574- 753-6969. A message may be left 24 hours a day.


Downhill winter recreational activities are not supervised. Any use of Logansport Parks for downhill recreational activities is at your own risk. The City of Logansport, its employees and sponsors are not responsible for any damage, accidents or injuries. All participants are responsible for knowing and obeying the rules. Use of sleds, snowboards, and innertubes are inherently dangerous activities that entail known and unanticipated risks, which could result in physical or emotional injury, paralysis, death or damage to yourself, to property, or to third parties. We recommend that you seek proper training before attempting this activity.
