The Logansport Parks & Recreation Department is pleased to announce their activities for the 4th of July.  Activities will take place at Tower Park and Riverside Park:

  • Free swimming & Water Carnival at Tower Park from Noon - 6 p.m.
  • Annual July 4th festivities at Riverside Park from 2:00 p.m. – 10 p.m.

First, Muehlhausen Aquatic Center is is open for a day of swimming and water activities. Throughout the day the Pool staff will hold a variety of activities: Hula Hoop Contest, Noodle Race, Penny Dive, and a Waterslide Race (fastest time).  The pool will open at Noon and close at 6 p.m.


The primary celebration is being held at Riverside Park.  Festivities will begin at 2 p.m. and end immediately following the fireworks. Musical performances will be performed on the Cass County Community Foundation Stage: 5-7 p.m.: Counterpoint, and from 8-10: Almost There.  In addition, there will also be a bounce house for kids, the Dentzel Carousel, Miniature Golf, live music, and great food. 

Scheduled activities at Riverside Park are as follows:

7 am -7 pm            Cass County Men’s Softball League Tournament @ Riverside Softball Field

2 pm:                      Food vendors available: Young America Lions Club, Indiana State Grange, Deacon Grange

Noon – 6 pm         Water activities at Muehlhausen Aquatic Center (Tower Park)

2pm – 10 pm         Bike Valet at Old Carousel Building --Park your bike, and we’ll watch it! Free water bottle to each bicycle that is checked (while supplies last)                   

2pm – 9 pm           ?Inflatable available ($1/person)

5 pm-7 pm             Band PerformanceCounterpoint” on the Cass County Community Foundation Stage

8pm – 10 pm         Band Performance “Almost There” on the Cass County Community Foundation Stage

10 pm.                    Presentation of the American Flag by American Legion Post #60 with the Star Spangled Banner (Fireworks flag across the Eel River) sang by: (to be determined)

10:10 pm.              12-15 minute Fireworks Display from North side of the Eel River

Food Vendors include the concession stand at the Riverside Softball Concessions, the Young America Lion’s Club, Indiana State Grange, & the Deacon Grange. These food vendors will offer a variety of terrific foods including-but not limited to- Bar B Q, hotdogs, elephant ears, popcorn, milkshakes, slushies, ice cream, cookies, apple slices and much more!

Since parking is at a premium in Riverside Park, the Parks Department is encouraging people to use the healthy alternative of walking or riding bikes to the park. New this year – the Parks Department is offering a bike valet service. Ride your bike to the park, check it at the Old Carousel Pavilion, and we’ll watch it!  There will be a free water bottle to each person that checks a bicycle (while supplies last!).

Handicap parking spaces for legitimate users will be available in front of the McHale Complex.  Designated overflow parking in the park will be available as necessary.
